Haven't been able to take many photos at all this week with the fires burning up the hills above us. My "spots" are all ok (for now) but the air quality is terrible. I'm just taking pictures of the ash landing on stuff for textures (as used above). Really, really hoping that the fires are out soon. I feel guilty complaining about our own small miseries (the boys can't go outside, our eyes itch and burn) when others are going through real tragedy and hard times.

An almost candid family shot -- I was Gina's second shooter and she had given them the marching orders, so to speak (har-har -- sorry, can't help myself). The girls happened to look back and I snapped before I really had time to compose the shot (ergo the cut off legs) but I love it anyway.

I really should have made my WM lighter. Ugh.

So much fun to take some shots of a little girl (it's been all boys for a while).

Sadly, my 50mm autofocus is broken so I had to manual focus (with a 2 year old at 1.4, not so easy :-)
Looking forward to getting it fixed this week. Fingers crossed.
